Hope in Christ Alone

Isaiah gives us a stunning picture of the future: “On this mountain the Lord Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples” (Isaiah 25:6). It is not just a meal, but a celebration of God’s victory over sin and death, where His people will sit together in joy. Revelation takes this vision further, showing us a day when God Himself will wipe away every tear, and there will be no more mourning, crying, or pain (Revelation 21:4).

These are not just distant promises. They are anchors for our hope right now. Our world is filled with loss and disappointment, and our own hearts are restless. But because of the cross and resurrection of Jesus, we know the ending of the story. The feast is guaranteed, the tears will be dried, and joy will have the final word.

This hope is not vague optimism or a general belief that things will get better. It is rooted in Christ alone. He has defeated sin and death, and He has promised to return. That means we can face today’s struggles with courage, knowing that the future God has secured for us is unimaginably good.

Takeaway: In Christ alone our hope is secure, and one day we will sit at His table, filled with joy in His presence forever.

Questions to Consider:

  • How does looking ahead to the great feast with Christ change the way you face hardship today?
  • Where are you tempted to place your hope in something other than Jesus, and how can you bring that to Him?
