Live Purposely for Christ
“Come now, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit.’ yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.” James 4:13,14
“Lord let me not live to be useless.” Famous words of John Wesley
I once heard a sermon about Pastor who gave a sermon to a bunch of athletes in a locker room. He told them all to raise their hands if they had met or remembered their grandpa. A handful of hands went up. He then told them all to put their hands down, and asked everyone who had met or remembered who their great grandpa was, and only a few raised their hand. Then he asked everyone who knew who their great great grandpa was, and nobody raised their hand. He then looked at the athletes and said “you see you are all only a few generations away from being forgotten, so make sure you do what counts with God.
Questions to ponder:
-What are your biggest aims in life? Are they Christ centered?
-Are you living purposely and fruitfully for Christ?
